The Budapest City Archives is pleased to host a conference and workshop on the archival situation, and issues of digitalization and publication of 19th -20th century Cadastral Maps (1:2280 scale) made in the Habsburg, and later Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy. Based on the data of cadastral surveys, the maps were made according to a unified set of criteria in the whole territory of the Monarchy, thus they particularly apply as an ideal material for international archival projects. Historical maps are of express interest and the development of information technology (internet, digitalization, georeferring etc.) should motivate and enable the realization of international co-operations in the field of map digitalization and publication in the future.
